That’s a very good question.

In January of 2016, the Common Council took the steps to form a Charter Reform Commission to undertake changes to Norwalk’s City Charter (Find the City Charter Here).

In a little over two and a half months, the Commission held one organizational meeting, two public hearings, and three working sessions.

Despite the call by members of the public asking the Commission to expand the scope of its consideration beyond what the Council asked it to do, it ultimately produced a 177 page report that will produce no material changes to the way the City of Norwalk runs (Read the Report Here).
